Our First “Bank of the Future”
As part of its master plan to deliver customers the most convenient and advanced banking services available, Highland Bank recently completed an extensive renovation of the Highland Park branch. A Grand Reopening celebration was held May 19 and 20 to acquaint customers with the improvements and innovative new technology.
The unique bank interior, which was designed by Mohagen Hansen Architecture | Interiors, recently won a First Place award from the Minnesota Chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) in the Retail/Hospitality/Finance category. It features:
- A smaller lobby with Universal Banking Stations instead of a teller line, where our Universal Bankers can handle all your banking needs.
- Advanced ATMs where you can cash checks and make a deposit without an envelope.
- A technology bar where customers can learn about our latest product additions — Popmoney and Mobile Payments — and enroll in Mobile Banking and Internet Banking.
"We are very excited to begin our branch transformations with our Highland Park location," said Sue Lee, Highland Bank Vice-President Director of Operations. "Customers can now have the majority of their transaction needs met by one Universal Banker instead of being shuffled between departments. This allows for more actual face-to-face time enhancing our customers’ service experience.
"By adopting new technologies we can service our customers more efficiently and attentively, while still providing the hands-on personal service they have come to expect. The technology bar allows staff to demonstrate products such as mobile banking and mobile deposit, and to help the customer begin the product enrollment process."
Lee further noted that the improvements benefit both customers and the community. “Feedback has been positive. Customers like how promptly and efficiently transactions have been processed, and how inviting the remodel appears. In addition, the remodel increased the size of the building, allowing us to bring two new businesses to the Highland Park area.”
Renovations Are Underway at Other Branches
Within the next two to three years, all Highland Bank locations will be transformed into the most modern banks in their communities using the design and technology employed in our Highland Park branch remodel. So, Universal Banker stations, a technology bar and advanced ATMs will be common features at all Highland Bank branches.
All branches will be open throughout renovation. Here is the current construction schedule.
Our all-new Minnetonka branch in The Shops at 1700 development is currently under construction. We will be open in our new facility on Monday, January 16, 2017, followed by Customer Appreciation Week February 8–10, 2017. Be sure to stop by! We'll have special offers, great giveaways and free paper shredding. See you there!
Maple Grove: Updates will begin in early 2017 and should be finished by fall. Front, customer-facing areas will be completed first, followed by back, operations areas.
Bloomington: Renovations are scheduled for 2018, and will follow the same, two-phase plan and six-to seven-month schedule as Maple Grove.
St. Michael: In 2019, this branch will receive the same updates as our Bloomington and Maple Grove branches.
